This discussion follows up on City Council’s recommendation to assign $250,000 for grant funding to be administered by the Arts Commission to support cultural and community facilities that provide programming to residents.  Since that decision, the Arts Commission has been working with staff to develop criteria and a draft application and scoring schema for a grant to distribute these funds.  This process included community engagement and advice from individual members of council as well as from staff over the course of the past four months.  The Arts Commission will be invited to the Council meeting to hear advice from Council.  And, for Council to advise staff on any changes needed to the process before the grant is released publicly.
