| | | | | | | | BRIEF HISTORY OF ITEM
In early 2018, council members Weaver and Yates proposed the creation of a shared equity pilot as a way to produce permanently affordable housing from existing homes with willing partners. In the meantime, staff conducted research on other downpayment assistance programs in the country and proposed an approach to engaging the community. The study session will explore programs nationally and locally, the ideas behind the pilot, how to proceed, and the questions that will need to be addressed to move this project forward.
